We are currently working towards developing this section of the website into a more interactive and fun space for students to learn about Earth sciences, BC's mineral resources, the crucial role of minerals in our everyday life as well as the responsible use of these resources. BC Mining Class of the Year - Mineral Resources Conservation - 2007Ms. Dale Maingot's Grade 5 class from Sacred Heart School in Delta was the 2007 winner of the MineralsEd's BC Mining Class of the Year competition. Their projects involved research on the mineral resources we use. Presented as poster,they creatively conveyed what we, as individuals, can do to reduce consumption, reuse and recycle materials. Roundup Rockhound Student Projects - 2007Students from Second Street Community School in Burnaby (teachers Donna Mills and Kathy Kirkpatrick) and from St. Anthony's School in West Vancouver (teachers Steve Knight and Simon Maledy) brought a variety of research and handcrafted projects to reflect what they had learned about Earth Science and mining when they came to Roundup in January 2007.
