HVC is a modern operation that uses a large fleet of huge equipment and traditional open pit mining methods to deliver some 130,000 tonnes of ore to the mill each day. Based on 3rd quarter 2017 results, total annual copper production was projected to be 275,000-290,000 tonnes, with molybdenun at 7.5-8.0 million pounds. According to Teck, HVC produces approximately 1% of the world’s copper concentrate and 1.5% of the world’s molybdenum.

The mine’s employees reside mostly in Kamloops and the surrounding communities. The workforce is diverse and includes equipment operators, all types of trades, scientists, engineers, and technologists as well as accounting, HR, communications and logistics specialists.
